b) According to the question;

3500 calories is equivalent to 1 pound of fat..

Hence;

45x minutes calories = 3500 calories

45x = 3500

Divide both sides by 45

(45x)/45 = 3500/45

(cancel45x)/cancel45 = 3500/45

x = 3500/45

x =77.78 "mins per day"

I.e the exercise will burn 1 pound of fat per day after 77.78 mins of the exercise..

In 30days for 1 pound of fat to be burnt, the exercise should be done for;

77.78/30 "min"s = 2.59 "mins"

Hence, it should be 2.59 mins each day in 30days
