Explanation:

f(x)=x^2-2x+2=x^2-2x+1+1=(x-1)^2+1

so first of all there are no constraints so the domain is : D=x in RR

now for the range,

(x-1)^2>=0 iff (x-1)^2+1>=1 iff f(x)>=1 iff y>=1

so the range is : R=[1,+oo)
