"A liquid.........."

Explanation:

The normal boiling point of pure ethyl alcohol is 78.2 ""^@C. Its melting point is -114.1 ""^@C. And thus at room temperature, ethanol is a liquid.

Ethanol is very hard to purify, because it is so miscible with water, and it is exceptionally hard to remove the water. Why should ethanol be soluble in water?
