Seed dormancy is the inactive stage of seed during unfavourable condition.

Explanation:

During unfavourable conditions (like drought) the seed goes into an inactive stage known as dormancy .
During this stage the seed losses its water content & become inactive.
**When conditions became favourable ** the dormancy stage broken & seed start to grow.
