So strut forms a right triangle with horizontal side(H) and vertical side(V) of the rectangular gate.

sin theta = V/D or V= D*sin theta= 3 sin28 = 1.41 (2dp) m and cos theta = H/D or H = D cos theta= 3 cos 28 = 2.65(2dp) m

The length of two sides of gate are 1.41 (2dp) m and 2.65(2dp) m
