The Anglo American ignored the Mexican Laws. Also the Anglo Americans refused to pay taxes.
The Anglo Americans regarded themselves as Americans not being under Mexican Laws. The Anglo Americans disregarded the oaths that they took to obey Mexican Law in order to obtain free land.
Many Anglo Americans hoped from the beginning to bring Texas into the United States and no intentions of obeying Mexican Laws.
