Period is dependent on the angular frequency which depends on the physical configuration of the Oscillator.

For a spring oscillator were the particle has mass m and spring has force constant k, then

omega = sqrt(k/m)

And the time period, T = (2pi)/omega

Also for a pendulum of length l undergoing simple harmonic motion,

omega = sqrt(g/l) represents the angular frequency. And time period is determined from the same relation as before.

The amplitude however, is an arbitrary constant and doesn't quite depend on k or l.
