A disease can be either infectious or non infectious.

Explanation:

Infectious Disease
Infectious disease is an illness resulting from an infection. It is also referred to as communicable or transmissible disease. Infections are caused by infectious agents including viruses, viroids, prions, bacterial, nematode, artopods, fungi, and several macroparasites. The branch of medicine that focuses on infections is referred to as infectious disease. Specific medicines including antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, Antiprotozoa, and antihelminthis are used to treat infections.

Non Infectious Disease
A non infectious disease is a medical condition or disease that is not caused by infectious agents. It is also referred to as non communicable disease. These are chronic diseases which last for long periods of time and progress slowly. A persons background, lifestyle, and environment are known to increase the likelihood of certain non communicable diseases. Most non infectious diseases are considered preventable because they are caused by modifiable risk factors.
