I would go for iron.

Iron burns brightly in dry chlorine to give brown iron(III) chloride.

The product is deliquescent which means it will absorb water from the atmosphere to form a saturated solution..

Note that this will always produce iron(III) chloride since chlorine is a powerful oxidising agent and brings out the higher oxidation state in iron.

To make iron(II) chloride you would need to react iron with dilute hydrochloric acid.
