N is just a notation used for Avogadro's number, which represents the number of molecules present in 1 mole of a substance. In your case,

N = 6.022 * 10^(23)"molecules" CO_2

Since you have to calculate the mass of 2N molecules, which is equivalent to having 2 moles of CO_2, you'll get

which is equivalent to
