Displacement is dependent on time and velocity.

If I walk to the train station from my home it will take me about 20 minutes to get there.

If I use my bike, I will be there in about 5 minutes.

Conclusion: my velocity on bike is 4 times as high as my walking speed.

It's all in the following formulae:
s=displacement, t=time and v=velocity

s=vt
v=s/t
t=s/v

In the metric system we use meters, seconds and m/s,
or kilometers, hours and km/h.

You use whichever units you like.
