Equation of a Circle

The equation of a circle with radius #r#, centered at #(x_0,y_0)# is

#(x-x_0)^2+(y-y_0)^2=r^2#

Since the center is #(x_0,y_0)=(-2,-1)# and it is #1# unit away from the #x#-axis, which gives #r=1#, we have

#(x+2)^2+(y+1)^2=1^2#

I hope that this was helpful.
