There's no official definition, but infrared light is generally considered to range from about 700 nm to 1 mm in wavelength, or from about #4.3x10^(15) s^(-1)# to #3.0x10^(11) s^(-1)# in frequency.

Infrared light covers the electromagnetic spectrum between visible light and microwave radiation.
