Considering the given eqution with a change

#4(1+y)x^2-4xy-(1-y)#

#=>4(1+y)x^2-2(1+y)x+2(1-y)x-(1-y)#

#=>2(1+y)x(2x-1)+(1-y)(2x-1)#

#=>(2x-1)(2(1+y)x+(1-y))=0#

Hence #x=1/2#

Checking

#4(1+y)x^2-4xy-(1-y)#

#=4(1+y)(1/2)^2-4(1/2)y-(1-y)#

#=1+y-2y-1+y=0#
