I tried this:

Let us call the cost of the pizza #P# without topping and the cost of one topping #x# we get:

#P+2x=$10.5#
and
#P+5x=$14.25#

let us solve for #P# and #x#:

from the first: #P=$10.5-2x#

into the second:

#$10.5-2x+5x=$14.25#

#3x=$3.75#

so that: #x=$3.75/3=$1.25#

and #P=$8#

So the total cost for one pizza depending upon the number of toppings #x# will be:
