What is a agonimeter?
1 Answer
A goniometer is an instrument that either measures an angle or allows an object to be rotated to a precise angular position.
Explanation:
we used the instrument in X-ray diffraction and reflection studies.
The base of the instrument can be levelled and the beam of X-ray
is allowed to fall on the central disc where the reflecting or diffracting surfaces are kept on a circular plate.
The plate can be rotated through a cam attached to spring so that similar planes of the speciemen can get in the path of X-rays.
The reflection or diffraction lines are recorded on photo plates which surround the specimen.
There are multiple uses of the instrument ,i only gave details of our X-ray Lab utility.
details can be seen at wikipedia site.
