Explanation:
It is possible for many substances to have the same density given the number of compounds and mixtures that can be created. In addition if the substances are impure, it is possible for different substances to have the same density. Since it is not a unique characteristic, it cannot correctly identify a substance.
However, density can be used to identify pure elements.
