What's the difference between y=(x)2 and y=x2?

Working on graphing reflections and I don't get it lol

Explanation:

(x)2 is always a positive number, as any number to the power of 2 is positive ( in this case, the number is (-x) ).
on the other hand, (x2) is completely another thing. (x2) is always a negative number because:
x2 is positive
(x2) means the opposite of x2
