Gene is a sequence of nucleotides translated into a protein. Genome is the total nucleotides present on all chromosomes of the organism.
Explanation:
Gene is expressing sequence of the nucleotides. The number of nucleotides in a gene may vary.
Genome is the total sequence of nucleotides of all chromosomes of the organsim. The sequence may be expressing or non expressing.
Many a times the non expressing nucleotides are called as junk genes
