i'm not sure i understand the question correctly but the 3p atomic orbital is given by the function :

#\Psi_(n,l,m)# with #n = 3, l = 1# and by the general theory you have ;

#l <= m <= l#

so you have three functions

#\Psi_(3,1,-1)# and #\Psi_(3,1,0)# and #\Psi_(3,1,1)#
