Iron is harder

Explanation:

Iron is harder in terms of the fact that it's hard for one to compress it. The reason that Iron is harder is that the electrostatic forces in Iron are very strong and this is why it's hard thus having resistance to being compressed.

Iron simply has stronger bonds and forces therefore being hard as compared to copper which is quite malleable although it is a good conductor
