Ions moving from a high concentration solution to a low concentration solution through a semi-permeable membrane

Explanation:

A prime example of chemiosmosis would be ATP synthase. ATP synthase works by using H+ ions moving from the outside where the concentration is high (a lot of H+) to the inside, where the concentration is low (little H9+).

The H+ ions moving through here

make the "mill" (in the first image) turn. The movement of these ions is called chemiosmosis.
