The tree is 11.5m tall and distance from tip to shadow is 33.5m

We know that the shadow is 29m long, and an angle in the triangle - $30^@$

Think about soh cah toa - which suits here?

We're trying to find the height, which in this case is the opposite side of the triangle. So we'll use toa.

$tan(30)="O"/29$
$"O"=11.547$

So the tree is 11.5 metres tall

Now for the distance from tip of tree to end of shadow (hypotenuse of our triangle).

Use cosine (cah)

$cos(30)=29/"H"$
$29/cos(30) = "H"$
$"H"=33.486$

So distance is 33.5 metres.
