- clothing made from cloth/metal
- very lightweight clothing; allowed for more free movement and speed
- quick movements allowed them to be very good at hand-to-hand combat
- arrows could not pierce through metal armour
- mainly fought on foot instead of on horse
- although clothing was very lightweight, it provided less protection
- weaker weapons
