Explanation:

"Sodium chloride" is a non-molecular, ionic solid composed of an infinite array of Na^+ and Cl^- ions. As an ionic solid it has a high melting point of 801 ""^@C, and a boiling point so high as to be almost unmeasurable. It has some solubility in strongly polar solvents such as OH_2 that are capable of solvating the component Na^+, and Cl^- ions, and next to no solubility in less polar solvents.
