Of common salt, the stuff you put on your fish and chips?

Explanation:

"Sodium chloride" is a non-molecular, ionic solid composed of an infinite array of Na^+ and Cl^- ions. As an ionic solid it has a high melting point of 801 ""^@C, and a boiling point so high as to be almost unmeasurable. It has some solubility in strongly polar solvents such as OH_2 that are capable of solvating the component Na^+, and Cl^- ions, and next to no solubility in less polar solvents.

See below :

Explanation:

  • Some salts are salty whereas others are bitter and tasteless
  • Most of the salts are neutral to indicators.
  • Some salts like salts of potassium, sodium, calcium etc. are colorless whereas the salts of copper, nickel, cobalt etc. possess color.
  • Most of the salts are soluble in water. Some salts of lead and barium are insoluble in water.
  • The solution of salt can conduct electricity.
