You can see the bone structure of past organisms and compare with that of present day.
Explanation:
By looking at fossils, one is able analyze the physical structures of past organisms, many which have since gone extinct. You are able to see how old these organisms were/what eras they lived in by using relative dating. Comparing these structures to today's organisms, you can see that structure has changed over time and that all organisms have evolved from a single prokaryote. Natural selection has allowed these organisms to evolve, the fittest organisms surviving to then reproduce organisms with their beneficial traits.
