First you split the surd into two parts #sqrt(98)*sqrt(x^4)# then u simplify it.

As you can see, #sqrt(x^4)# is equal to #x^2# and #sqrt98# is equal to #7sqrt2# so when put together it is #7x^2sqrt2#
