2 angles which are complementary add up to #90#.
If we call the smaller angle #x#, then the larger angle is #x+20#

Therefore we can say that

# x + (x+20) = 90#

Which is the same as;

#2x + 20 = 90#

#2x = 70#
#x = 35#

Now that we know #x=35# we know that the smaller angle is #35# and the larger angle is #35+20=55#
