What the difference between element, compound, heterogeneous, and homogeneous?

an element is a pure substance, you cant break it down any further than it already is. They are found on the periodic table and make up everything in the universe.
compounds are made of 2 or more different elements, such as table salt, which is made of Chlorine and Sodium.
heterogeneous means diverse or different.
homogeneous means uniform and similar.
