Why is electric potential a more useful quantity for most calculations than electrical potential energy?

Electric potential at any point in space is the property of the electric field present at that point while the potential energy of a charge at any point is dependent on the magnitude of the test charge as well. In other words, the electric potential energy is independent of any test charge and is a constant at that point while the electric potential energy is different for different test charges placed at that point.
