Okay we will solve this step by step

Let 2y=4x-162y=4x16 be equation number 1
and 5y=4x+85y=4x+8 be equation number 2

4x4x is same in both equations that is to say has same coefficient 4x4x

So we will subtract both of them
+5y=+4x+8+5y=+4x+8
-2y=-4x +162y=4x+16
This results in
3y=243y=24
y=8y=8 Substituting this value in equation number 2

5(8)=4x+85(8)=4x+8
40=4x+840=4x+8
40-8=4x408=4x
32=4x32=4x
32/4=x324=x
8=x8=x

So we get x=8x=8 and y=8y=8
