So if you have the equation and you still want to factor it, you need to bring all of the terms to one side $6 x^{2} + x - 5 = 0$ $6x^2+x-5=0$

The left side can now be factored into
$(x + 1) (6 x - 1)$ $( x +1)(6x-1)$ = 0
