Only about 100 mL of the average 2500 mL fluid intake is excreted through the feces in a healthy adult.

Explanation:

With a fluid intake of about 2500 mL/day, about 100 mL will be excreted in the feces. Some is also excreted through respired air and perspiration, while the majority, 1500 mL, will be excreted in the urine.

Most of the water we drink get absorbed initially but are later excreted in order to maintain homeostasis

Explanation:

The fluid present in the digestive tract is made up of water from diet, saliva and various digestive secretions. About 98% of this fluid is absorbed by the digestive tract and only 2% (200 mL/day) of the fluid passes through our stool.

Its important to note that we lose an almost equal amount of water each day as the amount of intake. This is so that our total body fluid content remains constant. So although most of the water is being absorbed initially, an equal amount of water is being excreted via perspiration, urination, expiration etc.
