In fact it is sodium glycolate. The answer I gave below is incorrect.

I was just looking at this again, and I realized that the quoted formula had 3 oxygens not the 2 that sodium ethanoate requires. So the answer below is wrong. You always see what you want to see. Whoops! I apologize.

#HOCH_2C(=O)O^−Na^+# is the sodium salt of glycolic acid, or hydroxyacetic acid, i.e. sodium glycolate.
