In aerobic respiration as many as 38 molecules of ATP are produced for every molecule of glucose that is utilized. 2ATP start the process so the net yield is 36ATP.

2ATP+ #C_6H_12O_6# + #O_2# -----> 36ATP +6#CO_2# +#H_2O#

The process of anaerobic respiration is relatively less energy yielding as compared to the aerobic respiration process.

#C_6H_12O_6# -------> 2ATP + #H_2O# + #C_3H_6O_3# (in animals)(lactic acid).
#C_6H_12O_6# -------> 2ATP + #H_2O# + #CO_2# + #2C_2H_5OH# (in plants)(ethanol).
