It is very easy to multiply two numbers;

# (2/7) # x (-3.5)

-3.5 can be written as #(-3.5/1)#

I can also write as

# (2/7) # x #(-3.5/1)#

Multiplying the numerators and denominators , we get;

( 2 x -3.5 / 7 x 1 )
