DNA or de-oxy ribonucleic acid is present inside the nucleus as compressed structures called chromosomes. DNA contains four different chemicals which codes protiens. Proteins are like 'the' components of living things.
So, since nucleus coordinates the conversion of DNA codes to amino acids (building blocks of proteins) and assemblage of proteins, it is called the director.
